GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonists are a class of FDA-approved medications that mimic a natural hormone produced in the gut after eating. They work by binding to GLP-1 receptors, which signals the pancreas to release more insulin after meals (reducing blood sugar), slows the rate at which the stomach empties (making you feel fuller longer), and reduces appetite signals in the brain. The result is reduced hunger, smaller meal portions, and meaningful weight loss when combined with lifestyle changes. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are the two most widely used GLP-1 medications.
Semaglutide (sold as Wegovy and Ozempic) is a GLP-1 receptor agonist — it activates only GLP-1 receptors. It is FDA-approved for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related condition. Tirzepatide (sold as Zepbound and Mounjaro) is a dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist — it activates both GLP-1 and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) receptors. The dual mechanism is believed to produce greater weight loss on average in clinical trials. Your physician will help determine which medication is most appropriate based on your health history, goals, and insurance coverage.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — nausea, constipation or diarrhea, vomiting, and reduced appetite. These symptoms are typically mild to moderate and tend to decrease as your body adjusts to the medication over the first few weeks. Less common but more serious side effects can include gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, and thyroid C-cell tumors (seen in rodent studies; human relevance is not confirmed). Your PropPilot physician will review your full medical history and discuss risks before prescribing. Contact your provider immediately if you experience severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting.
Clinical trial results vary by medication and individual factors. In trials, people taking semaglutide 2.4 mg lost an average of 14.9% of body weight over 68 weeks. Those taking tirzepatide 15 mg lost an average of 20.9% of body weight over 72 weeks. Individual results depend on diet, exercise, starting weight, and how your body responds to the medication. PropPilot does not guarantee specific results — your physician will set realistic expectations based on your profile. Weight loss is typically gradual: most people start noticing changes in the first 4–8 weeks.
GLP-1 medications are designed for ongoing use. They are not a short-term or "cycled" treatment. Stopping the medication often leads to weight regain, as appetite suppression reverses once the medication clears the system. Your PropPilot physician will evaluate your progress at regular intervals and determine the appropriate long-term treatment plan for your situation. Some people transition to a lower maintenance dose over time, while others continue on their target dose indefinitely. Treatment duration is always a decision made between you and your physician.
This is a decision you and your physician will make together. GLP-1 medications are clinically approved for chronic weight management, which implies ongoing treatment. If you stop taking the medication, appetite and hunger typically return to pre-treatment levels, and clinical data shows most people regain weight after discontinuation. If you want to discontinue treatment, your physician will discuss a plan that may include lifestyle changes to help maintain your results. The decision is always yours — PropPilot physicians support whatever path you choose.
PropPilot is designed for adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, or BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related health condition (such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol). You must be a resident of a state where PropPilot physicians are licensed and able to prescribe. You must complete our multi-step eligibility assessment honestly, which covers your health history, current conditions, medications, and goals. All information is reviewed by a licensed physician who makes the final determination on treatment eligibility.
Yes. PropPilot requires a BMI of 27 or higher for consideration of treatment. This aligns with the FDA-approved labeling for semaglutide and tirzepatide. The minimum exists because GLP-1 medications are approved for weight management in individuals with obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (BMI ≥27) with a weight-related comorbidity. If your BMI is below 27, the physician will not prescribe a GLP-1 medication through PropPilot, as it would fall outside the approved indication. Your eligibility will be evaluated during the assessment and confirmed by your physician.
GLP-1 medications are not appropriate for everyone. Key exclusions include: personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), personal history of multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2), severe gastrointestinal disease (such as gastroparesis), history of pancreatitis, current pregnancy or plans to become pregnant in the near term, and active eating disorders. Your PropPilot physician will review your full medical history during the assessment. If a condition makes GLP-1 treatment inappropriate, the physician will let you know and may suggest alternative options.
The PropPilot assessment is a multi-step, HIPAA-compliant intake process that takes approximately 3–5 minutes to complete. It covers: (1) Basic information — name, date of birth, state of residence; (2) Health profile — current weight, height, and calculated BMI; (3) Medical history — past and current health conditions, medications, and surgeries; (4) GLP-1 experience — prior use of weight loss medications and reasons for stopping; (5) Your goals and motivation; (6) Telehealth consent. All responses are reviewed by a licensed, board-certified physician who makes the final eligibility decision within 24 hours of submission.
The process has four steps: (1) Complete the online eligibility assessment — it takes a few minutes and covers your health profile and goals. (2) A licensed physician reviews your information within 24 hours and makes an eligibility determination. (3) If approved, you'll receive a prescription for an FDA-approved GLP-1 medication and schedule a live video consultation. (4) Your medication is sent to your home or a local pharmacy, depending on the medication and your insurance situation. You'll have ongoing access to your physician throughout treatment for questions and adjustments. The entire process — from assessment to first prescription — typically takes 3–7 days.
PropPilot guarantees a physician review of your assessment within 24 hours of submission. If you're approved, you'll receive an email with next steps and a link to schedule your live video consultation. The video consultation is scheduled at a time that works for you. If the physician determines you're not eligible, you'll receive a clear explanation of why and, where possible, a recommendation for alternative options. We take the 24-hour window seriously — your information doesn't sit in a queue.
PropPilot is a flat $199 per month, all-inclusive. This covers the physician consultation, ongoing medical oversight, and prescription management. It does not include the cost of the medication itself — GLP-1 medications are typically covered by insurance when used for FDA-approved indications, but your out-of-pocket cost for the medication depends on your insurance plan. If you're uninsured or your plan doesn't cover GLP-1 medications, your physician can discuss options including manufacturer savings programs. Medication costs are separate from the PropPilot program fee. All pricing is clearly communicated before you commit.
Your PropPilot physician sends the prescription to a licensed pharmacy, which will either ship the medication to your door (for some formulations) or have it ready for pickup at a local pharmacy. Which option applies depends on the specific medication, your insurance requirements, and pharmacy availability in your state. Your physician and the PropPilot care team will walk you through the process and help coordinate once your prescription is written. We only prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 medications — not compounded versions — so all prescriptions are filled through standard, regulated pharmacy channels.
Yes — exclusively. PropPilot only prescribes FDA-approved GLP-1 medications (semaglutide brand names Wegovy and Ozempic; tirzepatide brand names Zepbound and Mounjaro). We do not prescribe compounded versions of these medications, which are not FDA-approved and come from unregulated sources. This is a core compliance principle. If you see telehealth platforms offering "compounded semaglutide" or "custom GLP-1 formulations," those are not the same as the FDA-approved medications PropPilot prescribes. FDA-approved medications have passed rigorous clinical trials for safety and efficacy; compounded versions have not.
Yes. PropPilot is fully HIPAA-compliant. Your health information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. All assessment data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your information is only accessed by the physicians and care team members involved in your treatment — it is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing purposes, or used for any purpose outside your care. You can review our full HIPAA Notice on our dedicated HIPAA page. If you have any questions about how your data is handled, contact us at support@proppilot-13.polsia.app.
Telehealth regulations vary by state, and PropPilot only operates in states where our affiliated physicians are licensed and where telehealth prescribing of GLP-1 medications is permitted. During the assessment, you'll be asked for your state of residence — if we're unable to serve your state, you'll be notified before submitting. Our physicians are licensed in multiple states and maintain active DEA registrations for controlled substance prescribing where applicable. We are committed to operating fully within the legal framework of every state we serve.
Every PropPilot affiliated provider is independently verified before they can practice on our platform. This includes: (1) Medical license verification with the state medical board in every state where the provider holds a license; (2) DEA registration verification for controlled substance prescribing; (3) Board certification verification where applicable; (4) National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) query for any prior adverse actions; (5) Malpractice insurance confirmation. All provider credentials are publicly checkable through state medical boards and the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). We take credential verification seriously — it's a condition of operating as a compliance-first telehealth platform.
